Crater Lake Camp

Rated the ’Best Tented Camp’ in Kenya and ’Best Weekend Getaway’, the Crater Lake Lodge has also gained the reputation of being among the most romantic camps in Kenya. The camp is built on the shores of green volcanic lake in the bottom of an old volcanic crater. The Crater is 87 hectares in extent and the lake takes up 14 hectares of this area.

Crater Lake was born from the violent volcanic upheaval that created the Great Rift Valley some 30 millions years ago. The lake exists since some thousands years. Today it covers between 12 and 15 hectares of the 87- hectare crater. Its average depth is between 4 and 5 meters with a maximum of 8 meters.

Accommodation

The camp comprises of eight double rooms and two permanent family bandas,all which are ensuite with hot and cold showers.Honey moon suite which has a large bush pole bed and double Jacuzzi.All rooms look out over the lake.
